Drilling & Welding of Aluminum Element TubeFashioned from 6061-T6 aluminum, these element tubes were manufactured by Advance Tube Engineering using a variety of cutting, deburring, drilling, welding, and anodizing processes. The raw aluminum tube measured 3.00 inches in outside diameter and .065" wall. We cut the tubing to length, removed all burrs and sharp edges, drilled two holes through, and welded the cover onto the tubing. We then cleaned the component and applied a ChemFilm after welding, and black anodized the element tube. We relied on a customer-supplied print and a 2D CAD drawing to make sure we followed strict client standards and requirements, and were able to produce a high-quality product. Throughout manufacturing we held tight tolerances, down to +/- .010 of an inch.

Each final element tube measured 15.65 inches in overall length, with two, .093 of an inch in outside diameter holes on one end and a cap welded to the other end. We inspected the 25 unit order before packaging and delivering the element tubes to our client in Huntington Beach, California. Please contact Advance Tube for more information about this project.
